The company has dedicated itself to power transmission since its foundation in 1897. It began with transmissions for sawmills and mills. As electrical power transmission gradually became more and more popular, the company began to develop and manufacture modern drive elements.

The successful era of mayr®-torque limiting clutches began at the end of the 1950's. Since then, torque limiting overload clutches to protect against machine damage have become more and more important due to the rapid development of electrical power transmission. As leading innovators, mayr® Power transmission has consistently developed this product range over the years, and still own many trend-setting patents for torque limiting clutches today. The company has been the international market leaders in this field for many years and is able to present their customers with the widest product programme.
Safety brakes -

In 1967, the company expanded its production spectrum with electromagnetic products, starting with ROBA-stop® safety brakes. Such brakes are today considered a vital safety element of modern electrical drives. More stringent safety regulations and new standards or directives have reinforced this trend. In this field, too, mayr® Power transmission is one of the leading suppliers. The company has an extremely wide standard product range at its disposal and has also launched numerous application-optimised brake solutions onto the market, for example for elevator technology, stage technology and gravity loaded axes.

The development and manufacture of shaft couplings began in 1981 with the ROBA®-D. The company specialised in backlash-free shaft couplings from the very beginning and today offers a comprehensive and mature product range including disk pack, steel bellows and elastomer couplings.
